Alpine Print Company
Alpine Print Company Alpine Print Company was started in December 2014 by Graeme Deroux. His creativity and determination has kept him busy for the past 9 years. Although the launch was in 2014, Graeme claims that he really started taking it seriously in 2017.
Alpine Print Company is located in Guelph, Ontario and focuses on high quality and efficient printing.
Graeme has always been creative, from a young age he loved to draw cars amongst other things. He claims a huge influence to him is his uncle who would give him sketchbooks for Christmas sharing his passion as a teacher at OCAD. Eventually, the sketchbooks turned into a computer - this is where Graeme got interested in graphic design. As Graeme grew up he dabbled in photography and graphic design as he worked professionally as a bike mechanic.
So, why screen printing? Well, Graeme always liked clothes and ‘dressin’ sick’! With his passion for clothes, photography, mechanical problem-solving and his love and skills in graphic design, the trajectory of his career seemed pretty obvious to him and that was of course, screen printing. It seemed like the perfect spot for him to hone in on his skills and passion. So, like stated before the business started in 2014, but it really got taken seriously in 2017 - that is because Graeme decided to quit his job and go all-in.
Starting a business for Graeme has been quite the learning experience, he learned to trust himself with decision-making and not always necessarily take the typical route to get to the end result, he learned that you can get the same result in a lot of better ways if you focus on what you are trying to achieve, rather than the process of how you are going to get there. He learned along the way that you don’t need to have a pile of money to get started and be successful. With the right business plan, and good preparation, you are able to borrow money from the bank to be successful during your start-up.
Graeme mentioned the saying that “you can get two out of three of the following options, affordable, fast and high quality”. He likes to keep his business in the middle of that saying and break that rule. Alpine Print Company is affordable, high quality and decently fast at their job and they would love to have your business.
