The Folk

The Folk @thefolkca is an apparel/lifestyle brand that is based out of… yep, you guessed it Norfolk County!

Started in May 2020, the beginning of the pandemic, as many businesses were. The folk has three founders - Eric, Ashley and Drew.

Norfolk County has often been referred to as ‘the Folk’ by many of its residents. Eric would often refer to it as ‘the Folk’ too when heading home from school after term. He had created merch items previously and thought it was the coolest thing when he would see other people walking around sporting his designs. Eventually, Ashley and Drew came to him with the idea of starting a clothing brand and they all thought it was a perfect fit!

The residents of Norfolk County are often very proud of where they are from and having a brand that represents their hometown area is a concept that people love to jump on.

The Folk has a generic main line that has “The Folk” branded apparel, but their lineup doesn’t stop there. In addition they have other line ups including BOATINFOLK, PADDLEFOLK, LAKEFOLK, COTTAGEFOLK, FISHINFOLK, FARMINFOLK, CAMPINFOLK, HUNTINFOLK, BEACHFOLK, HOCKEYFOLK, SPOKEFOLK, FAIRFOLK, and EATDRINKLOVELOCAL. As well as Limited Edition RODEOFOLK, WINEFOLK, BEERFOLK, SLEDFOLK and FIREFOLK.

They had sported many other ‘FOLK’s’ in the past and I am sure they will come up with more.

The Folk has always been a small business supporter and a portion of their sales have always gone to purchasing local business gift cards that they traditionally give away via their social media account. When you make a purchase from The Folk, they encourage you to nominate a business that you would like to see supported. This is their way of saying thank you for helping support “The Folk”.

Over the past few years of business, The Folk has had some proud accomplishments. They have been featured on CTV news, as well as raised a whole lot of money for local organizations and businesses of Norfolk County!
