Pop Golf GTA: Bringing the Golf Course to You

What if you didn’t have to go to the golf simulator — what if the golf simulator came to you?

That simple question is at the heart of Pop Golf GTA, a fully mobile golf simulator experience founded by two friends, Ranojan Yoganathan and Kabir Sangha.

Launched in May 2026, Pop Golf GTA brings a premium virtual golf experience directly to weddings, corporate events, birthdays, bachelor parties, private parties, festivals, community events and more throughout the GTA and surrounding areas.

Rather than asking guests to visit a traditional indoor simulator facility, Pop Golf brings the entire experience directly to the event. The team sets up a large inflatable golf simulator complete with launch monitor technology, a projector, simulator equipment and golf clubs for both left- and right-handed players. Their staff also remains on-site throughout the event to manage the experience from setup to takedown.

And for those looking to add a little competition, Pop Golf can also run longest-drive and closest-to-the-pin competitions with customized leaderboards — something that has quickly become one of the most popular parts of their events.

Pop Golf GTA was founded by Ranojan Yoganathan and his business partner, Kabir Sangha.

The two founders come from very different professional backgrounds. Ranojan works in the construction industry, with a background in civil engineering and construction surveying, while Kabir is a software engineer.

Despite their different careers, they share two things that became the foundation of Pop Golf: an entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine passion for golf.

Both regularly play golf, and when they started discussing potential business ideas, they wanted to create something they would actually be excited about themselves.

“We didn’t want to build something purely because we thought it could make money,” Ranojan explains. “We wanted to create something we would personally be excited to use.”

That led them to an opportunity they believed wasn’t really being offered in Canada: combining golf, technology and the event industry into a completely mobile experience.

The idea behind Pop Golf came from a simple observation.

Indoor golf simulators were becoming increasingly popular, but customers still had to travel to a facility to use them.

So Ranojan and Kabir asked themselves:

Why should people have to go to the golf simulator when the golf simulator could come to them?

From there, the idea became a reality.

They began researching everything required to create a fully mobile simulator experience — from inflatable enclosures and launch monitors to projectors, simulator software, golf equipment, transportation, power requirements and event logistics.

There wasn’t a clear blueprint for exactly what they were trying to build, meaning much of the early process involved trial, error and constant improvements.

And, as Ranojan and Kabir joked during the early stages:

“Even if the business fails, we’ll just set it up at our houses and play golf with the boys.”

Fortunately, things turned out quite differently.

Pop Golf GTA officially launched in May 2026, and the response has been much faster than the founders originally anticipated.

The company began promoting heavily through social media while reaching out directly to venues, businesses, event planners, breweries, sports organizations and potential partners.

Then people started seeing Pop Golf in person.

That’s when things really began to take off.

Within only a few months, the company has already brought its mobile simulator to a wide variety of events while building relationships throughout the community.

One of the biggest surprises for the founders has been how quickly people have embraced the concept.

Videos from events are shared online, guests tag the company in their posts, and word of mouth continues to introduce Pop Golf to new customers.

For a company that launched only months ago, the momentum has been significant.

One of the things Ranojan and Kabir want people to understand is that you don’t have to be a golfer to enjoy Pop Golf.

That accessibility is a major part of what makes the experience work so well at events.

Someone who plays golf every weekend can compete against someone who has never swung a golf club before. Guests can take a few swings, compete with friends and family, and simply enjoy trying something different.

The result is an experience that is both social and competitive.

The founders say some of their favourite moments happen when a longest-drive competition gets underway.

One person hits a big drive.

Someone else decides they can beat it.

Suddenly, a crowd forms around the simulator and everyone wants a turn.

Those are the moments Ranojan and Kabir envisioned when they first came up with the idea.

Starting Pop Golf has also taught the founders that having a great product is only one part of building a successful business.

Marketing, networking and building relationships have been just as important.

They’ve learned that dozens of unanswered messages can be part of the process, and that one positive response can sometimes lead to an event, which leads to an introduction, which eventually becomes another partnership.

They’ve also learned the importance of understanding the value of what they provide.

A mobile golf simulator isn’t simply a piece of equipment.

Behind every event is transportation, setup, takedown, staffing, equipment, technology, planning, customer communication and troubleshooting.

Guests may see a simulator ready to play, but there can be hours of preparation behind that experience.

And because every event location is different, the team has to constantly adapt.

Weather, sunlight, power requirements, venue layouts, setup space and technology can all create challenges that need to be solved on the fly.

That combination of technology, logistics and event management has made Ranojan and Kabir’s different professional backgrounds surprisingly useful.

Although the company launched as Pop Golf GTA, the founders’ ambitions extend far beyond the Greater Toronto Area.

To their knowledge, they were the first company in Canada to introduce this style of fully mobile inflatable golf simulator experience, and they have quickly grown into one of the larger operators in the space.

Now, they’re looking at how they can bring Pop Golf to other provinces and markets across Canada.

The long-term goal is to establish Pop Golf as a leading name in mobile golf entertainment across the country.

For Ranojan and Kabir, it’s an exciting position to be in.

Only a few months ago, Pop Golf was an idea between two friends who loved golf and wondered if they could turn that passion into a business.

Today, that idea is showing up at events across the GTA and creating memorable experiences for hundreds of guests.

And they’re just getting started.

Stories like Pop Golf GTA are exactly what make Ontario’s entrepreneurial community so interesting.

Two people with different professional backgrounds identified an opportunity, took a chance on an idea they genuinely believed in, and built something that didn’t have an established blueprint.

Their story is also a reminder that entrepreneurship doesn’t always begin with a perfect business plan or years of preparation.

Sometimes it starts with two friends, a shared passion and a simple question:

“Why not us?”

For Pop Golf GTA, that question has already taken them much further than they imagined.

And if their first few months are any indication, the future of Pop Golf is looking pretty exciting.
